Nagrota – On his third day of winter sojourn to district Kangra, Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur while addressing a massive public meeting at Baroh in Nagrota Bagwaan Assembly constituency today said that it was unfortunate that the leaders of Congress were expecting massive development within a month of formation of government. Referring indirectly to former Industries Minister on his statements, Chief Minister said that the first and foremost development was to overthrow Congress from the State. There was change of generation, he said and advised such leaders not to issue statements out of frustration.

He reminded the leaders issuing irrelevant statements that the very first decision was taken in interest of elderly people of the state, by reducing the age of social security pension from 80 to 70. There were very few beneficiaries who were above 80 years of age and that was the reason the Government took a decision to reduce the age to 70 years for pensionary benefits to cover more persons under this scheme.

“My Government took a decision to send home the tired and the retired. There were around more than 32000 retired and extension seekers in Congress government. My government has not given extension to anyone but keeping in view the essential services and shortage of staff in revenue department, the government decided that Patwaris and Kanungo’s on extension, will serve the people till new batch which was under training join in July or August 2018. To avoid harassment to the people in getting their revenue works done, we decided to continue with their services, said the Chief Minister.

He said that the Detailed Project Report (DPRs) of the 69 National Highways were pending from over one and a half years in Congress regime. As of now, my Government has directed to complete the process of tenders for DPR preparation by 31st March 2018, said the Chief Minister. The State Government would initiate Road Maintenance Policy to bring qualitative improvement in roads. The Government of India has sanctioned in principle 69 National Highways for the State for which the State is grateful to the Centre Government. It would strengthen the road network in the State, he said.

He said that Himachal Pradesh had again been selected under second phase of Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN), a regional connectivity scheme. The visitors will now be able to avail air services at mere between Rs. 2500 to Rs. 2800 from Chandigarh to Shimla, Kangra and other places as well

Taking a Jibe at Congress leaders the Chief Minister said that the Congress leaders could see nothing. They were forgetting that during their regime various mafias were active. It was the previous government that inaugurated incomplete developmental works. I can see live example of half completed works of Baroh Bus stand just in front of Dias where from where I am addressing, said the Chief Minister. The Congress started new practice of online inauguration and laying foundation stones of 40 to 50 works simply by sitting in office and that too without budgetary provision.
